Farquhar to return to TT

28/01/2014 13:55:00

Forcefield supported road racing legend Ryan Farquhar will make a sensational return to the Isle of Man TT in 2014 to compete in the Lightweight race.

Farquhar quit racing in 2012 and concentrated on managing his KMR Kawasaki team, however, the 37-year-old will come out of retirement next year alongside new team mate and former Honda TT Legends rider Keith Amor, who also returns to the roads after calling time on his own career in 2011 due to a shoulder injury.

The pair were involved in many memorable battles between the hedges at the Irish national meetings in the past but will join forces to ride identical 650cc ER6 Kawasaki’s in the 3-lap Lightweight race this June.

Speaking about the move Farquhar commented: “It may shock a few people but it’s something we both want to do 100%. This isn’t a full-scale comeback for either of us though and the plan is just for the TT where I’ll also be running Joe Faragher. I always said the Supertwin bike was my favourite and Keith was my biggest and most respected rival so what better way to return than with us all together”
